Privacy Policy
Introduction
Semper Fi Mission is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving homeless and struggling veterans in the greater Pittsburgh area. This page explains what this website collects, where it goes, and how long it is kept. We keep it short and specific, because a policy you cannot actually read is not a disclosure.

What the volunteer form collects
When you submit the volunteer application, we collect the information you type into it:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Your phone number, if you choose to provide it
- Your date of birth
- Which of our past events you have attended
- How you would like to volunteer, and which ministry team interests you
- Anything you write in the comments box
You must be at least 14 years old to submit the volunteer form. We ask for your date of birth to check that, and because some volunteer roles have age requirements.
Where your application goes
Your application is sent as an email and nothing else. This website has no database, and your application is not stored on it.
The email is delivered by Resend, an email service, and arrives in an inbox monitored by Kenaz Works, the agency that built and maintains this site, which reviews volunteer applications on behalf of Semper Fi Mission and passes them to the team. We are naming that plainly because you are applying to the mission, and you should know whose inbox your application reaches first.
Your email address is set as the reply-to address, so when someone answers your application, the reply goes to you.
How long it is kept
Your application lives in that inbox for as long as it is kept there. There is no second copy on this website, no database record, and no export to any other system.
If you would like your application deleted, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page and say so. We will delete the email.
Other services this site uses
- Vercel hosts this website. Like any web host, it records requests to the site, including IP addresses, as part of normal server logs.
- Vercel Analytics counts page visits so we can see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites.
- Resend delivers the volunteer application email described above.
- Zeffy runs the donation form. Donations are handled entirely by Zeffy on their own systems. Your payment details never reach this website, and we never see your card information.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing what it does with that data.
The spam trap on the volunteer form
The volunteer form contains a hidden field that real people never see. Automated spam tools fill it in, and when that happens the submission is discarded instead of being emailed.
When a submission is discarded this way, we record a short one-way code derived from the email address, and never the address itself. That code exists so that if you tell us you applied and we never received it, we can confirm whether the spam trap caught you by mistake and put it right.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to build a marketing profile. We do not add you to a mailing list from the volunteer form.
Questions, corrections, and deletion
If you want to know what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, contact us and we will take care of it. Contact details are in the footer of every page on this site, including a mailing address and phone number.
